So, I took a trip to Pounds and Ounces after seeing a deal for them on Gilt City. The deal sold out before I could buy one, but I figured if the place was that popular, it was definitely worth trying!
I came here with my boyfriend, another couple, and their son. After getting everybody coordinated in Chelsea, we were almost 40 minutes late for our reservation. Even though this place was packed, they were still able to get us a table for 5 without too much difficulty.
Their specialty here is their unique "Benedicts." I opted for the chicken and buttermilk waffles, the BF got smoked salmon on potato pancakes. They were AMAZING. The chicken comes with a BBQ Hollandaise sauce unlike anything I've ever tasted. The salmon comes with the most perfect latkes ever.
Another plus is their 33 oz cocktails, and they are much better libations than your average watered down Mimosas. The Cucumber Basil Lemonade is my fave - and at $22 for a shareable carafe, the pricing really isn't that bad.
My amazing chicken and waffle benedict
My friend went for the Red Velvet pancakes. Unfortunately the were a little too warm for the orange Mascarpone cream and the Gran Marnier syrup, but still very rich and delicious!
